What does RBI stand for? — July 1, 2011

The Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities concept was developed by former major leaguer and scout John Young. Major League Baseball assumed control of the program in 1991 with the assistance of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

After the death of Officer Thomas Lindsey, a memorial youth athletic league was started to bridge the gap between community members and police officers. Thomas M. Lindsey Memorial Youth Athletic League, a part of the Utica RBI program, is now in its 3rd season.

Games are held at Quinn Park, located near St. Vincent Street and Rutger Street.
